GBE was shortlisted as a Finalist for the Manufacturing Excellence awards in 2004 and are extremely proud to have won an award for Outstanding Achievement for Product Innovation. This was an extremely thorough and rigorous assessment process, which included an onsite audit and GBE delivering a presentation at the IMechE headquarters in London. The assessment was focused GBE's BloodTrack® product.
In 2005, with the University of Brighton as academic partner, GBE applied for and won a KTP Grant to focus on developing our electronic embedded design capabilities, which was successfully completed in 2007. Another KTP Grant was won in 2009, also with University of Brighton as academic partner. This grant was used to advance GBE's medical and healthcare product development expertise, along with embedding an ISO 13485:2003 conforming QMS system. The KTP has provided a strong route to market for an innovative diagnostics device that assesses Diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy, reducing the high number of deaths caused by the condition and reducing the impact on healthcare services.
GBE was delighted to win the top prize of Business of the Year in the inaugural Adur and Worthing Business Awards.
GBE designed and launched next revision of Kiosk, to cement and develop the relationship with Haemonetics. We completely upgraded our internal Quality Management System to meet customer audits.
Ewan was highly commended in the 'Sleep Accessories Category' at Harrogate Nursery fair.
GBE implemented numerous new features and functions to Rev 5 kiosk further support business with Haemonetics. At this point in time, nearly 2,000 Kiosk's had been sold since 2004.
GBE's own Electronic Design Engineer, Alex Croucher, has been celebrated by Electronics Weekly's BrightSparks 2017 programme in recognition of his achievements as a young engineer in the electronics industry. Alex has been a part of the GBE design team since 2013 and has been involved in a wide variety of development projects, demonstrating both his ability and drive as a professional Electronic Design Engineer.
Wildtrax Electronics was welcomed to the GBE group of companies. This strategic acquisition enables GBE to further optimise our whole-product solution: multidisciplinary product design, through to full product manufacturing, programming and testing. We can now include small volume, fast-turnaround surface mount assembly (SMA) prototypes along with full contract electronic manufacturing (CEM) services for through-hole and SMA. Combining our client-focused, product-orientated engineering support business model with the benefits of an efficient and cost-effective SMA line, all managed from one company, is an extremely powerful commercial offering for our existing and potential new customers.
